As a Product Owner II within PNC’s Retail Lending organization, you will be based in Charlotte, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Wilmington, DE; Brecksville or Cleveland, OH. This role owns the vision and the definition of the product, serving as the voice of the customer. It provides guidance to concentrate the Scrum Team(s) effort on correct priorities based on business value. The Product Owner defines and conveys the vision to the team(s) in order to address client requirements to meet business objectives. They are accountable for the creation of and the integrity of the product backlog, prioritizing and leading grooming of the product backlog. The Product Owner works in partnership with the Scrum Master(s) to ensure items are worked on in accordance with the product backlog, serves as the primary point of contact for questions from the team(s), and accepts delivery of working product from the Scrum Teams(s). They review and validate Scrum Team(s) working product and socialize the delivery of business value and outcomes of the iteration to various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • University / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product delivery across the full lifecycle—driving initiatives from discovery and solution design through development, testing, release, and post-production support, ensuring alignment to business goals and customer outcomes
  • Conduct competitive and market research, analyzing industry trends, emerging capabilities, and competitor payment experiences to inform product decisions and help deliver a best-in-class home lending payments journey.
  • Drive discovery and requirements definition, partnering with stakeholders to identify customer pain points, define acceptance criteria, and ensure clarity of scope, including both standard and edge-case scenarios.
  • Lead Agile execution and delivery, story writing facilitating backlog refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance processes while making day-to-day product decisions to enable continuous delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Leverage data and analytics to measure success, track KPIs, and inform prioritization decisions to continually optimize payment flows and customer journeys.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication, ensuring transparency on delivery progress, trade-offs, and impacts across the initiative lifecycle.
  • Prioritizes and leads grooming of the product backlog.
  • Works in partnership with the Scrum Master(s) to ensure items are worked on in accordance with the product backlog.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for questions from the team(s).
  • Accepts delivery of working product from the Scrum Teams(s).
  • Reviews and validates Scrum Team(s) working product.
  • Socializes the delivery of business value and outcomes of the iteration to various stakeholders.
