About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Product Owner – Fraud & Security for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The Product Owner for Fraud & Security is responsible for defining product strategy, managing the product backlog, and delivering technology solutions that strengthen fraud prevention, risk management, and enterprise security capabilities. This role requires a strong understanding of fraud detection, cybersecurity, and risk mitigation within a financial services environment. The ideal candidate has experience working with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver security-focused solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or Product Manager supporting enterprise technology initiatives
  • Strong background in fraud prevention, cybersecurity, information security, financial crime, or enterprise risk management
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, managing backlogs, prioritizing features, and delivering technology solutions in Agile environments
  • Strong experience writing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements for technical development teams
  • Experience working with Scrum or Kanban methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of fraud detection, transaction monitoring, identity verification, authentication, access management, or security controls
  • Experience collaborating with Software Engineers, Architects, Data Engineers, Security Analysts, Fraud Operations, and business stakeholders
  • Understanding of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and enterprise application architectures
  • Experience defining and tracking product KPIs, operational metrics, risk indicators, and delivery outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance business priorities, technical constraints, security requirements, and regulatory obligations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting fraud prevention or cybersecurity platforms within banking, payments, credit cards, or financial services
  • Familiarity with fraud detection technologies involving machine learning, behavioral analytics, anomaly detection, and risk-based decisioning
  • Experience with identity and access management (IAM), multifactor authentication (MFA), privileged access management (PAM), or zero-trust security initiatives
  • Exposure to fraud monitoring, case management, suspicious activity alerting, and investigation workflows
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulatory requirements such as NIST, PCI DSS, SOX, or FFIEC
  • Experience working with data analytics, reporting, and visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Splunk
  • Experience delivering enterprise API integrations, microservices, and cloud-based security or fraud solutions
  • Familiarity with risk management, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and security incident response processes
  • Experience coordinating large-scale, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple Agile teams and technology platforms

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for fraud prevention, security, and risk management initiatives
  • Own, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives, security requirements, regulatory obligations, and customer needs
  • Collaborate with Fraud, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, Engineering, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities and define product requirements
  • Translate complex fraud and security requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies to support timely and high-quality product delivery
  • Drive the development and enhancement of fraud detection, transaction monitoring, identity verification, authentication, and security systems
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement fraud prevention strategies, security controls, automated detection capabilities, and risk-based decisioning workflows
  • Define product requirements for real-time fraud monitoring, anomaly detection, suspicious activity identification, and automated alerting
  • Support the integration of fraud and security solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, and third-party services
  • Evaluate fraud trends, emerging threats, security vulnerabilities, and operational risks to identify product enhancements and prioritize remediation initiatives
  • Work with data and analytics teams to define fraud detection metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and reporting capabilities
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity and architecture teams to incorporate security-by-design principles, access controls, data protection, and secure integration patterns into product delivery
  • Ensure product features align with applicable regulatory, compliance, and internal security requirements
  • Manage dependencies, risks, issues, and delivery timelines across multiple technology teams and enterprise initiatives
  • Monitor product performance, fraud prevention effectiveness, operational efficiency, and user adoption to guide ongoing enhancements
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication, executive reporting, product demonstrations, and release planning
  • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating business feedback, fraud investigation insights, security findings, and production performance data into the product roadmap
