Product News & Intelligence Editor

LabX Media Group
CA$60,000 - CA$80,000Remote

About The Position

LabX Media Group is seeking a Product News & Intelligence Editor to join their team. This is a new role focused on the intersection of editorial and commercial strategy within the company. The editor will be responsible for creating and managing a high-output product news workflow across multiple LabX Media Group brands. This role is designed around AI-assisted production, utilizing structured AI workflows to publish a significant volume of articles weekly. The editor's role is to provide the necessary judgment, accuracy, and editorial instinct to ensure the AI-generated content is useful and reliable. The position involves translating product announcements for specific audiences, optimizing content for SEO and GEO, rigorous fact-checking, and producing sales intelligence briefs for the sales team. The role also supports earned media coverage by extending and contextualizing advertiser stories for the audience. The editor will operate within and improve a library of AI prompt templates, contribute to workflow documentation, and stay current with AI content tooling developments.

Requirements

  • A background in science, life science, science media, or science marketing communications.
  • Strong, clear writing ability — specifically the capacity to translate technical product information into audience-appropriate editorial copy quickly, accurately, and at volume.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI writing tools and a structured, process-oriented approach to AI-assisted content production.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high personal standard for factual accuracy.
  • Self-directed and highly organized — this role carries significant daily autonomy alongside clearly measurable output expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment categories: analytical instruments, consumables, reagents, automation, or laboratory software.
  • Prior experience in B2B media, trade publishing, or science marketing communications.
  • Working knowledge of SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Semrush, or Ahrefs.
  • Understanding of how media advertising products work — sponsored content, category sponsorship, newsletter placements, display.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI workflow optimization, not just day-to-day tool use.

Responsibilities

  • Publish product news across LabX Media Group brands
  • Produce 50–60 short-to-mid-length product news articles per week, distributed across LMG properties based on audience fit.
  • Translate each announcement for the publication’s specific audience.
  • Optimize every article for both traditional SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO).
  • Apply rigorous fact-checking discipline — no specifications, regulatory claims, or technical figures go to publish without source verification.
  • Deliver sales intelligence briefs by producing concise internal briefs for LMG’s sales reps.
  • Support earned media coverage by producing editorial that supports advertisers’ programs by extending and contextualizing their stories for our audiences.
  • Operate within — and actively improve — a standardized library of AI prompt templates for article drafting and brief generation.
  • Contribute to workflow documentation so processes are reproducible and transferable.
  • Stay current with developments in AI content tooling and proactively propose improvements.

Benefits

  • Enthusiastic equal opportunity employer that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Celebrate diverse perspectives and are committed to fostering a culture where differences are valued and innovation thrives.
  • Reasonable accommodation is available for qualified individuals with disabilities, upon request when contacted for an interview.
