About The Position

Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa is seeking qualified applications for the posting of Product Metallurgist. Principal duties include, but are not limited to: Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Ensuring order entry is correct from a technical aspect. Understanding and maintaining system and standards for order entry. Providing technical support to customers and commercial teammates from inquiry to production to product feedback.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent technical/engineering related steel production experience
Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Nice To Haves

Plate Steel Experience
Experience reading and responding to industry and customer specifications
Ability to communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical peers.
