About The Position

Rich's, a family-owned food company, is seeking a Product Manager for their Category Business Unit, specifically focusing on the Appetizers category. This role is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the assigned category, managing the product lifecycle, establishing pricing strategies, developing marketing plans, creating new product/platform roadmaps, financial management, and achieving business results. The scope of work is determined by the category's size, complexity, and strategic importance. This position requires a hybrid work schedule and can be based in Saint Simons, GA or Buffalo, NY.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in marketing or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing role.
  • Demonstrated financial skills to include P&L analysis and other analyses.
  • Solid communication skills, including verbal and written capabilities; strong presentation ability.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Leverages AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate insights, improve decision-making, enhance productivity, and drive marketing effectiveness.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience in CPG or food industry a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute innovation/renovation activity against plan for Rich’s retail appetizer portfolio.
  • Act as an "Expert" on the retail appetizer category/segment, understanding operational capabilities, technical aspects, uses, and customer positioning.
  • Provide input into the demand plan.
  • Offer support and solutions to the Product Supply Chain.
  • Make pricing recommendations on new products and general price increases based on value.
  • Problem-solve inventory/spoilage issues.
  • Recommend SKUs for rationalization and execute.
  • Understand consumer, customer, and industry dynamics, target markets, and segments for the category.
  • Assess the competitive set, conduct competitive assessments, and perform market quantification and analysis.
  • Conduct Category Discovery work to generate new products and platforms within appropriate target segments.
  • Drive the voice of the customer and consumer, translating insights into business opportunities.
  • Drive category/segment/customer plans and execution according to their strategic role within the Division to achieve divisional volume and profit targets.
  • Provide cross-functional team leadership and project management.
  • Maintain consistent communication with sales, market research, and other resources to develop insight into emerging focused trends and translate them into business opportunities.
  • Manage the value proposition within the assigned category.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing partners on Farm Rich brand strategy.
  • Own and manage the assigned category P&L.
  • Identify issues and opportunities to maximize profitability.
  • Understand product cost structure.
  • Develop and manage gaps and contingency plans as required.
  • Develop and manage an appropriate budget for the assigned category.
