About The Position

Planet is looking for a strategic Senior Product Marketing Manager to define the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for all AI capabilities across the company. In this role, you will serve as a core strategic partner to our Product Management team, acting as the critical bridge between our edge AI development and the market. You will work closely with stakeholders across Product, Sales, Design, and Marketing to build a cohesive narrative that differentiates Planet in a crowded and noisy AI market. This role is responsible for translating complex technical capabilities, like our geospatial AI Agents, into clear buyer value and ensuring our AI tools achieve product-market fit. On a day-to-day basis, you will deeply understand customer challenges, establish a bidirectional feedback loop to help shape the product roadmap, determine effective engagement strategies, and arm sales and marketing stakeholders with the right messaging, content, and competitive insights. This role offers the opportunity to market groundbreaking data products and AI-powered solutions built on our unique near-daily Earth scan. Partnering closely with sales and cross-functional teams, you will have the autonomy to prioritize projects and guide key marketing functions to tell compelling stories across diverse channels. The ideal candidate can rapidly grasp technical concepts and develop simple and effective narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. This role is expected to routinely present internally and externally at events and webinars, and should be adept at public speaking and evangelizing Planet’s mission and solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree.
  • 6+ years of B2B, product or solutions marketing.
  • An AI-native builder mindset; you actively leverage AI tools in your day-to-day workflow to generate messaging, build solutions, and accelerate execution.
  • Strong technical creative chops with the hands-on ability to independently produce high-quality product videos, visual assets, and interactive prototypes.
  • Track record positioning and marketing B2B/enterprise products, specifically bringing zero-to-one AI or highly technical SaaS products to market.
  • Experience partnering with product, sales, and executive stakeholders and communicating across leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-starter with ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute GTM and pricing strategies to guide AI products from beta to General Availability.
  • Drive positioning and messaging that translates complex AI capabilities (e.g., embeddings, LLMs) into clear, benefit-driven narratives for non-technical buyers.
  • Produce and maintain core sales enablement assets, getting hands-on to independently create pitch decks, battlecards, product videos, and interactive demos.
  • Partner tightly with Product Management to secure product-market fit, utilizing data and research to ensure we solve real customer problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams to seamlessly integrate product messaging into broader market-facing campaigns.
