About The Position

iFixit is seeking a talented, business-minded Product Manager to manage its whitelabel and third-party tool resale program. While iFixit engineers many of its own tools, a significant portion of its catalog is sourced from established manufacturers, either whitelabeled or resold. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and compliance teams to identify catalog gaps, find suitable manufacturers, negotiate deals, and manage products from initial sample to launch. This position is crucial for ensuring iFixit offers the right tools for repairs, complementing its in-house engineered products.

  • Strong business acumen, including market research, negotiation, and margin analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with product lifecycles and BOM management, including revisions.
  • Experience with private-label or store-brand programs.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system.
  • Familiarity with consumer product compliance (REACH, Prop 65, safety certifications).
  • Experience with the Amazon marketplace and GS1 barcodes.

Responsibilities

  • Research the repair market and iFixit's catalog to identify product gaps and write proposals to justify filling them.
  • Source manufacturers, both domestically and overseas, and negotiate terms including pricing, MOQs, tooling, and payment.
  • Develop landed-cost models and propose retail pricing for the web store, Amazon, and wholesale channels.
  • Guide products through compliance, packaging, barcode acquisition, and launch processes.
  • Evaluate product samples hands-on.
  • Monitor sales and margins, and manage price adjustments, re-sourcing, and end-of-life decisions for products.

  • Flexible vacation time and paid holidays.
  • Dependent Care FSA.
  • Generous stipends for repair and wellness.
  • $400 stipend towards a bike or alternative transportation.
  • A pair of headphones.
