About The Position

iFixit is seeking a talented, business-minded Product Manager to manage its whitelabel and third-party tool resale program. This role involves identifying catalog gaps, sourcing manufacturers, negotiating deals, and managing products from sample to launch. The Product Manager will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and compliance teams to ensure the right tools are available for repair. This position is based in Chattanooga, TN, with a hybrid work schedule. Occasional travel to other iFixit locations may be required.

Requirements

  • Experience sourcing product and negotiating with overseas manufacturers.
  • Strong business acumen including market research, negotiation, and margin analysis.
  • Clear written communication skills, particularly with non-native English speakers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with product lifecycles and BOM management.
  • Private-label or store-brand program experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another ERP.
  • Familiarity with consumer product compliance (REACH, Prop 65, safety certifications).
  • Amazon marketplace and GS1 barcode experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research the repair market and iFixit's catalog for product gaps and write proposals.
  • Source manufacturers (domestic and overseas), and negotiate pricing, MOQs, tooling, and payment terms.
  • Build landed-cost models and propose retail pricing for web store, Amazon, and wholesale.
  • Guide products through compliance, packaging, barcodes, and launch.
  • Evaluate product samples hands-on.
  • Monitor sales and margins, and drive price changes, re-sourcing, and end-of-life decisions.
