About The Position

As a Market Product Manager, you will serve as the product subject matter expert and a key partner to our field sales teams across the Western region. This role is highly cross-functional, focused on helping sales teams position the right products, win business, and grow revenue within key categories. You’ll work closely with sales representatives, sales leadership, and category teams to translate product strategy into real-world selling success—from customer meetings and product demos to training and go-to-market support. This is not just a behind-the-scenes procurement role. The right person has hands-on supply chain experience with physical product lines that are stocked, distributed, and sold through field sales teams and distributor relationships. This role is focused on tangible, physical products—not software, digital or financial products. The ideal candidate brings experience working with packaged goods, consumables, or warehouse-distributed products and understands how those products are warehoused, sold, positioned, and supported in the field. This is a hybrid role based our of our Cerritos, CA or Sumner, WA, with occasional time spent in the field supporting sales teams and customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, sales support, category management, or a product-focused sales role.
  • Strong background working with physical products in distribution, foodservice, hospitality, or related industries.
  • Experience supporting or partnering closely with field sales teams and customers.
  • Ability to confidently present products, lead discussions, and influence customer decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex product information.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, field-oriented environment.
  • Strong data analysis, negotiation, and interpretation skills.
  • The candidate must have strong leadership qualities and a relentless desire to deliver against company objectives.
  • Strong sense of urgency, with the drive and knowledge to navigate multi-level relationships.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, perceptive, proven ability to develop relationships that withstand objections and unexpected changes in strategy.
  • Values organization, accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel 20%- 30%.

  • Experience with sourcing, vendor management, or pricing strategies.
  • Background in category management, supply chain, or procurement in a supporting capacity.
  • Familiarity with private label or import product programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the product expert for packaging, disposables, and consumable goods across hospitality and foodservice channels.
  • Partner directly with sales reps and sales leadership to support customer opportunities.
  • Help position products in competitive situations by clearly communicating value, differentiation, and use cases.
  • Lead product demonstrations, trainings, and onboarding sessions for sales teams.
  • Translate product strategy into practical sales guidance that helps drive revenue and margin growth.
  • Support bids, RFQs, and large opportunities by recommending the right products and solutions .
  • Develop category and channel expertise that allows the organization to effectively compete within the market; this includes monitoring channel needs, trends, and competitive products to ensure the channel remains competitive while maximizing profitability.
  • Analyze product performance and identify opportunities to improve margin, and consolidate assortment when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Category Management on sourcing strategy, product availability, and vendor alignment (secondary focus).
  • Along with supporting the sales team, you will be responsible for delivering on the sourcing & sales strategy and profitability for the products within your region including product mix support and pricing/margin suggestions.
