Product Manager, Platform Infrastructure & Compliance

PayJunctionSanta Barbara, CA
$140,000 - $150,000Hybrid

About The Position

PayJunction is seeking a Product Manager to own our platform infrastructure and compliance portfolio: Enterprise Hierarchies (the largest 2026 initiative), processor certifications, PCI DSS compliance, and Terminal & Hardware. The portfolio narrative is “The platform works and scales for external parties.” This role requires a strong technical Product Manager with solution architecture knowledge who can partner effectively with the platform architect on Hierarchies while independently owning the specification-driven, deadline-governed certification and compliance work. They bring enough architectural depth to engage at Platform Architect’s level - understanding data models, system dependencies, and multi-tenant design while managing the immovable external deadlines from processors and certification bodies that define the other half of this domain.

Requirements

  • 7+ years as a Product Manager with platform/infrastructure product ownership in payments or fintech
  • Direct experience with processor certifications or payment network integrations (TSYS, Fiserv, Visa/MC mandates, EMV)
  • Experience delivering specification-driven, compliance-governed products with hard external deadlines
  • Experience with data architecture or multi-tenant platform design, you will partner with a solution architect on the most complex data modeling initiative at the company
  • Track record of partnering with solution architects or senior engineers to define system design, then owning the product specification that results from those sessions
  • 3+ years working with Agile/Scrum teams
  • Deep understanding of payment processing flows (authorization, settlement, processor interconnections)

Nice To Haves

  • CS degree, technical degree, or demonstrated technical depth (coding bootcamp, technical certifications)
  • Experience at a payment processor, bank, or fintech infrastructure company
  • Experience with PCI DSS, SOC2, or similar compliance frameworks
  • Terminal/hardware product lifecycle experience
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar backlog tools

Responsibilities

  • Drive Enterprise Hierarchies M2-M3 to completion, partnering with the platform architect to define data models, account structures, and system dependencies, then translating those decisions into implementation-ready specifications
  • Own all processor certification work with full accountability for external deadlines you cannot negotiate
  • Manage PCI DSS compliance requirements and translate them into actionable engineering work
  • Build and maintain a quarterly product backlog that sequences platform work based on external deadlines, dependencies, and cost of delay
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions, ensuring platform stories have unambiguous acceptance criteria that reflect processor specifications and compliance requirements
  • Own external processor relationships, be the single point of contact for certification requirements and timeline management
  • Coordinate cross-domain dependencies (Hierarchies enables merchant structures and partner account growth)
  • Present platform roadmap to leadership showing how infrastructure work connects to company revenue and growth objectives
