About The Position

This is a 12-week internship focused on Pebl's proprietary conversational AI, Alfie. Alfie is a key part of the product, used across the platform, self-serve flows, and hellopebl.com. It not only answers questions but also takes action, provides insights, and guides users. The intern will work directly with the Principal PM leading Conversational AI to explore key questions about Alfie's behavior, user experience, and areas for improvement. The work will involve analyzing conversation data, optimizing Alfie's behavior, researching best practices in conversational AI, and defining use cases and requirements. Additionally, the intern will contribute to Athena, Pebl's internal employee AI, with similar discovery and definition tasks. The work is expected to ship on a live product and influence strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Requirements

Curiosity about AI.
Comfort with ambiguity.
Ability to transform messy inputs into a clear point of view.
Skill in asking pertinent questions before jumping to solutions.
Proficiency in writing that facilitates decision-making.
1–3 years of experience in product, strategy, or a related field (pre-MBA experience counts).
Hands-on experience with AI tools, including building with them.
Strong written communication skills, with a focus on producing documents that drive decisions.

Responsibilities

Analyzing real Alfie conversation data to understand user engagement, drop-off points, and user needs.
Optimizing Alfie's behavior in specific contexts, including its persona, conversation flow, and guidance towards the next action.
Researching how leading conversational AI products are built and identifying potential learnings for Pebl.
Defining use cases, success metrics, and requirements for engineering teams.
Contributing to Athena discovery, including user research, use case mapping, and requirements definition for the employee-facing AI.
