As a Product Manager on the Xbox Platform team, you’ll drive innovation at the intersection of Xbox and Windows, collaborating with teams across Microsoft to deliver seamless, player-first experiences. You’ll partner with engineering, design, and external partners to define and execute on a vision that makes Windows the best place to play, whether games are installed locally or streamed from the cloud. We're looking for a technology leader with experience working on deeply complex cross-team initiatives, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who is passionate about gaming, and is eager to build inclusive, accessible experiences for a global audience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 2+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • 3+ years of product management experience shipping products and services.
  • Strong technical background and solid foundation in software or platform engineering principles.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing on complex collaborative cross-team initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable speaking to different audiences including leadership.
  • Deep consumer experience with the Windows gaming ecosystem, including products offered by Xbox as well as 3rd-party offerings.
  • BA/BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering or related disciplines.
  • Strong partner who leverages the help of others and seeks frequent feedback.
  • Experience with data and customer feedback analytics.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership: Identify customer needs, combine your technical expertise with product and industry knowledge, to spec clear functional requirements, keep engineering aligned, and see features through to completion.
  • Iterating after ship: Monitor your features using metrics and verbatim feedback. Partner with support. Incorporate these and other signals into your future roadmap.
  • Deliver high-quality results: Partner with engineering to prioritize the right work, at the right time, including features and bug fixes. Plan for post-release support, and measure success.
  • Multitasking with focus: Context switch between different projects and different partner teams. Balance your time effectively between projects. Maintain composure throughout.
  • Clear communication: Communicate the what, why, how, when, to internal and external stakeholders. Adjust your level of detail to be appropriate and approachable by each audience.
  • Team player: You will leverage the work of others, build upon their success, and incorporate their feedback into your projects.
