About The Position

The New Businesses team is leading the creation of new, standalone products at CNN, and focused on the creation of separate, non-news experiences that can help enrich our users’ lives and drive the subscription business. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and strategic Product Manager, with interest in delivering 0-1, cross-platform, direct-to-consumer products in a fast-paced environment. As a Product Manager II for New Business, you will work on the Weather team. You will contribute to new features and iterations for the Weather product, partnering with your team members across functions to help prioritize delivery of full product experiences on time. You will contribute to the trade-off process during requirement definition and reviews to ensure releases are delivered against company business goals.

Requirements

  • A capable product manager who thrives in complex and ambiguous environments
  • A strong communicator who can clearly articulate the “what and why” of a product to build alignment on customer problems and outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build productive, collaborative relationships within and across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using data and analytics to inform business and product decisions.
  • Excellent written communication skills for producing high-quality product materials.
  • Strong judgment in prioritizing features according to customer value.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the product team to execute features, setting goals, metrics, and specific execution details.
  • Write clear, effective product artifacts, including PRDs, PR/FAQs, Product Briefs, and JIRA tickets to build shared understanding and align teams.
  • Help deliver high-quality features with a consistent ship cadence and manage post-launch reviews to incorporate learnings and feedback.
  • Use insights from analytics, customer feedback, research, and support channels to guide planning, inform product decisions, and improve product performance.
  • Optimize existing team processes to drive impact and effectively communicate the impact of your work and delivery.
  • Connect customer needs and opportunities with the broader product and business strategy.
