About The Position

Our work is central to the patent ecosystem, converting unstructured submissions into searchable outputs for examiner workflows and public access. We operate in a regulated environment with stringent security, large data volumes, and complex business rules. Our focus is on modernizing legacy workflows through automation, AI, and platform transformation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. This role specifically supports the modernization of patent data processing workflows for pre-grant and grant operations, aiming to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enable scalable automation. The Product Manager I will own a defined product area or feature set, executing a roadmap to achieve measurable outcomes like productivity gains and cost reduction. Collaboration with engineering, operations, and data teams is key to identifying automation opportunities, validating hypotheses, and delivering solutions that benefit internal workflows and downstream customers. The role demands strong analytical thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and a willingness to challenge assumptions, with a focus on connecting product decisions to economic outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience in product management or related experience
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and make trade-off decisions
- Experience working in Agile environments (backlog management, user stories, sprint execution)
- Ability to translate business problems into clear product requirements
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must successfully pass a background investigation and achieve Public Trust security clearance
- Must be located near the Horsham, PA location for a Hybrid onsite schedule
Nice To Haves
- Experience with workflow automation, internal platforms, or enterprise systems
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts (NLP, computer vision, LLMs)
- Experience working with data tools (SQL, Python, Excel, BI tools)
- Exposure to regulated environments or government contracting
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual data entry and repetitive tasks across patent processing workflows.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of automation solutions using AI, machine learning, and rules-based systems.
- Partner with operations to understand real-world workflows and ensure solutions are usable, adopted, and impactful.
- Own the roadmap and execution for a defined product area or feature set.
- Define clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and success metrics for engineering.
- Maintain and prioritize backlog aligned to business goals and operational impact.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release coordination.
- Analyze workflow, productivity, and quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Establish and track key metrics.
- Use data to validate hypotheses and inform prioritization decisions.
- Contribute to defining and validating the economic hypothesis for your product area.
- Work with Finance and Operations to ensure delivered capabilities translate into realized savings, not just theoretical gains.
- Leverage modern AI tools (LLMs, NLP, computer vision) to improve workflow automation and decision support.
- Contribute to experimentation with agentic workflows and microtask-based automation pipelines.
- Engage with internal users to understand pain points and validate solutions.
- Represent customer needs to engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Communicate product progress, insights, and outcomes to stakeholders.
