About The Position

Getting a molecule from discovery to patients, or a crop from lab to field, involves thousands of slow, manual, disconnected steps. Requirements

3-5 years of product management experience, with hands-on ownership of API, SDK, or developer platform products
Technical fluency: ability to read code, review API specs, and have credible conversations with engineers.
Developer empathy: obsession with developer experience and understanding of AI-era tooling (MCPs, LLM-friendly APIs, agentic workflows).
Familiarity with the modern developer stack — APIs, SDKs, documentation, and developer onboarding.
Strong communicator: ability to write crisp requirements and present clearly to engineers, stakeholders, and customers.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with the life sciences or enterprise SaaS domain
Experience building developer communities, running beta programs, or managing developer relations programs
Prior experience at a company with a platform business model or marketplace

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end roadmap for Benchling's developer-facing products: REST APIs, MCPs, SDKs, API playground, code examples, and code recipes.
Define primitives for agentic R&D workflows, get them built, and ensure developers can use them.
Work cross-functionally with Solutions Engineering, Partnerships, and Customer Success to build platform extensibility for the partner ecosystem.
Own the developer experience end-to-end, addressing gaps in documentation, APIs, and support.
Establish feedback loops through interviews, support signals, and usage data to inform roadmap decisions.
