Product Manager & Designer

Here Now Health•Virginia Beach, VA
•$90,000 - $100,000•Remote

About The Position

Here Now Health is hiring the second person on its product team to own product experiences from discovery and design through tickets, engineering collaboration, QA, launch, and release notes. The role designs software for therapists, care advocates, caseworkers, and families affected by the child welfare system, balancing the needs of multiple user groups within workflows shaped by Medicaid rules, consent law, and privacy requirements. The Product Manager & Designer reports to the Head of Product and works closely with engineers and clinical team members. The role spends approximately 40% of its time working with engineering, 30% on product design, 20% on data and AI workflows, and 10% on materials and the website. Work includes prioritizing incoming bugs and ideas, specifying features and acceptance criteria, reproducing and investigating bugs, checking builds and releases, designing screens and product copy, maintaining design systems, monitoring automated reports, developing and reviewing AI-assisted workflows, analyzing product outcomes, preparing internal and external materials, and keeping the public website current. This is a full-time, 100% remote position with flexible scheduling and occasional travel to engage with partners and stakeholders. The employee must have access to a private, quiet workspace with reliable high-speed internet.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in product management, product design, or both, on a product people use every day.
  • Healthcare experience, ideally in Medicaid or behavioral health.
  • A portfolio that includes product UI and at least one ticket or specification the candidate wrote.
  • A clear understanding of what makes a good ticket and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with Figma or a similar tool and the habit of writing one's own UI copy.
  • Daily use of AI tools in one's work and an understanding of where they can go wrong.
  • Enough technical depth to reproduce and narrow down a bug and explain it to an engineer; coding is not required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Access to a private, quiet workspace with reliable high-speed internet.

Nice To Haves

  • Child welfare or behavioral health experience.
  • Experience working on a product with multiple user roles and permissions.
  • Experience managing work in Linear or a similar issue tracker.
  • Experience building or maintaining a website in Webflow or a similar platform.

Responsibilities

  • Decide with the Head of Product which incoming bug reports and ideas should ship next.
  • Write tickets for designed work, including states, error copy, notification text, and acceptance criteria or definitions of done.
  • Reproduce bugs, demonstrate where and why they occur, and work with engineers to identify fixes.
  • Check builds on staging using test patients and review production after releases.
  • Write release notes and provide short trainings when a feature changes how therapists work.
  • Determine the needs of therapists, care advocates, caseworkers, and families within shared workflows, including resolving conflicts among those needs before design begins.
  • Turn workflows and rough sketches into low-fidelity screens promptly, then develop them into finished designs after review with the clinical team.
  • Own product copy, including reminder texts and button labels, and maintain the underlying design system.
  • Maintain the accuracy of automated reports and checks, including attendance, therapist capacity, no-shows, and chart audits, and follow up on findings.
  • Build AI-assisted workflows with the Head of Product and check their outputs before they are relied upon.
  • Gather and analyze data behind product decisions and evaluate outcomes after launch.
  • Turn spreadsheets and operational data into actionable materials, such as monthly goals-versus-actuals reports and answers for the clinical director.
  • Create decks and one-pagers for internal and external needs, including all-hands meetings, referral partners, and conferences.
  • Keep the public-facing website current.
  • Follow up with therapists and other users to understand feedback and learn more about their needs.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% employer-paid employee-only premiums and significant contributions toward family coverage.
  • Company-sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off, paid sick leave, company holidays, and floating holidays.
  • Health Savings Account for eligible high-deductible health plans.
  • Company-provided laptops and equipment, as applicable.
