About The Position

The Product Manager - Data Center USA is responsible for the build-up of a dedicated new product and solution portfolio for the North American data center market and applications. This role involves portfolio steering and business intelligence. The Product Manager will build-up and steer the dedicated new product & solution portfolio for the data center market & applications, support and participate in UL product & safety standardization efforts and certifications, and conduct business & market intelligence. They will ensure the transfer of technical and application know-how across the group, contribute to the development of the PTD market, and support the expansion of the customer base. This role requires close cooperation and alignment with global Product Managers, Engineers, Sales & business development. The Product Manager will create market and competitor analyses and market strategies, monitor the competition, and create specifications for new product development, considering customer/market requirements, competition, standards, costs, and company capabilities. They will create and maintain the PTD product roadmap, manage technical documentation, and ensure market/customer analysis results are incorporated into products throughout their lifecycle. The role also involves participating in and managing product development projects, developing sales-oriented training and presentation materials, organizing and supporting training sessions, and supporting Marketing Communications with content for advertisements and online presentations. Planning and scheduling marketing activities for the existing product portfolio and new product launches in collaboration with global and local stakeholders is also a key responsibility. Adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental standards is required.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering with experience in sales, marketing and/or project management (ideally further training in product management) or business administration with very sound basic knowledge of electrical engineering and mechanics
  • Ideally experience with complex electrical power connectors and/or systems, as well as UL certifications and standards
  • Experience with Office 365, CRM (e.g. Aurea), ERP (e.g. SAP)
  • English native speaker or similar level of language proficiency.
  • Additional languages an advantage
  • Outgoing, sales-oriented, and internationally experienced personality
  • Independent work style, flexibility, organizational skills, and a confident demeanor, even in international environments and with clients
  • Open and clear communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the results of market and customer analyses are incorporated into the products throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Participates in and is responsible for the execution and management of product development projects
  • Develops sales-oriented training and presentation materials (e.g., for sales, customers, etc.)
  • Organizes and supports training sessions, workshops, etc.
  • Supports Marketing Communications in the design and presentation of technical and general content for advertisements, mailings, and online presentations of product group components
  • Plans and schedules marketing activities for the existing product portfolio and for new product launches in collaboration with the global and local stake holders

  • Supports & Assists in monitoring ongoing global PTD Data Center key projects (inquiries, quotes, orders)
  • Supports Sales and Business Development in developing, implementing, and continuously optimizing the sales and marketing strategy

  • Monitors the market and regularly reports on market developments, products, competitors, new trends, target achievement, and important events
  • Supports Business Development and Sales in retaining, developing, and engaging key customers worldwide through on-site visits and hosting them at headquarters

  • Assists with controlling and reporting local sales activities, including revenue, growth, market, product, and customer-related targets for the sales and segment managers
