This position reports to: Product Line Manager __ Your Role and Responsibilities Reporting to the Product Line Manager, you will perform various activities in the product life cycle that will ensure the long-term profitable growth of our medium voltage (MV) air insulated switchgear (AIS) OEM offering. Working with the eOEM Channel Product Leader you will play a key role within the Distribution Solutions NAM Business Line Portfolio Management team to drive our switchgear OEM business. Additionally, you will support the Medium Voltage Switchgear Product Managers in activities for maintaining the cost, sales and market data for the MV product lines. (Mebane, NC) (Hybrid)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience in engineering, R&D, product marketing, sales, or product management within an industrial environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of power distribution products, particularly medium-voltage switchgear, motor control, or related electrical equipment.
  • Strong financial acumen, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills with a structured, logical approach.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and strong customer relationship-building abilities; able to work across virtual and cross-regional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), self-motivated and organized, with willingness to travel up to 30% (including internationally) and valid U.S. work authorization.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Support the definition, development, and lifecycle management of ANSI medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear offerings for OEM customers, including business case creation and NPI program execution.
  • Drive product positioning, pricing strategy, and customer value proposition while ensuring competitive differentiation within the portfolio.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain to achieve product and market objectives.
  • Develop and deliver product/application training, maintain accurate product documentation, and build domain expertise to support customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain and support sales configurators and ERP systems, ensure cost accuracy, and assist in monitoring portfolio performance to improve profitability and operational execution.
