About The Position

This role is for a Senior Distinguished Product Manager focused on Agentic Advertising to define and scale new advertising experiences within AI-powered shopping journeys. The position sits at the intersection of retail media, conversational commerce, product discovery, marketplace quality, and customer trust. The AI Shopping team leads strategic AI initiatives to drive innovation and market growth, collaborating with internal and external partners to develop product roadmaps, execute go-to-market strategies, and manage stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of product management experience, with meaningful experience in ecommerce, digital advertising, and/or retail media.
  • Strong understanding of advertising products, sponsored listings, auction-based marketplaces, campaign performance, measurement, and attribution.
  • Experience with agentic commerce, AI/ML personalization, recommendation systems, or conversational interfaces.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across engineering, design, data science, business, legal, privacy, and operations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience defining success metrics, experimentation plans, dashboards, and business impact models.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and turn emerging technology shifts into clear product strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align diverse teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 13 years’ experience in product management.
  • OR 15 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marketplace advertising, sponsored search, display advertising, or performance marketing platforms.
  • Experience building products that require policy, privacy, brand safety, or trust-and-safety considerations.
  • Experience launching zero-to-one products or monetization models in emerging consumer technology spaces.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 12 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for advertising experiences within AI-powered commerce surfaces.
  • Pioneer new AI-native ad formats that move beyond the sponsored product playbook, using shopper intent, mission context, product relevance, basket signal, and closed-loop commerce outcomes to create useful, transparent sponsored experiences.
  • Define how sponsored products, recommendations, and brand experiences should appear in conversational and agentic shopping journeys.
  • Partner with advertising, ecommerce, search, personalization, design, engineering, data science, analytics, legal, privacy, and policy teams to bring new monetization experiences to market.
  • Develop customer-first principles for sponsored experiences in AI shopping, including relevance, transparency, disclosure, measurement, and ranking integrity.
  • Identify high-value surfaces and moments where sponsored recommendations can improve customer decision-making, basket completion, and product discovery.
  • Build and scale experimentation frameworks to measure customer engagement, advertiser value, incremental sales, conversion, basket impact, and long-term trust.
  • Translate advertiser needs into scalable product capabilities, including targeting signals, placement logic, reporting, attribution, and performance optimization.
  • Establish product requirements for ad serving, event instrumentation, auction eligibility, quality controls, and closed-loop measurement.
  • Balance monetization goals with customer experience quality, ensuring sponsored content is helpful, relevant, and clearly differentiated.
  • Help define how retail media evolves as AI assistants become more involved in shopping decisions.
