About The Position

As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you’ll work on real projects, be part of our collaborative culture, and get the support you need to grow - across two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, giving interns the chance to contribute to meaningful work while building skills. The environment is designed for learning and growth for curious, driven individuals excited about media, entertainment, and technology. The program runs from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027, requiring a time commitment of 16-24 hours per week, with the exact schedule determined by business need and accommodating course schedules. Opportunities require interns to work from Universal City, CA. The Operations & Technology (O&T) division, a significant part of NBCUniversal, functions as a global shared service performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, and Cyber Security. One area of placement is FTVS Studio Tech Solutions- Finance, which supports the technology needs of Creative, Production Operations, and TV Studio/Production Finance teams within the Universal Studios Group. This role primarily focuses on systems and initiatives enabling Studio and Production Finance functions.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Experience with Ai, MS Excel, SQL & Bi Reporting
  • Experience with SQL or any relational databases in addition to creating mapping documents between source and target systems, wireframes / mockups, and business process flow diagrams

Responsibilities

  • Managing support and enhancements for custom applications used by the business
  • Prioritizing product backlogs based on cost savings and end-user impact
  • Collaborating closely with engineering teams to refine business requirements and address related questions
  • Coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) and production release timelines, ensuring alignment with business priorities and user availability while maintaining seamless application performance
