About The Position

Dell Technologies is seeking a Product Management Consultant for its PowerEdge Product Management Team, based in Round Rock, Texas, or Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The role defines and drives the roadmap for datacenter power and cooling infrastructure offerings that complement the PowerEdge server portfolio, particularly for AI and high-density deployments. Offerings include rack power distribution, PDUs and busways, direct-to-chip and immersion liquid cooling, coolant distribution units, rear-door heat exchangers, and thermal management solutions. The consultant owns the end-to-end product lifecycle, from market definition and requirements through launch, sustaining, and end of life. The role aligns power and cooling roadmaps with PowerEdge server and AI/GPU platform roadmaps; evaluates build, buy, and partner options; manages ecosystem relationships; develops business cases; and communicates the portfolio’s value to internal and external stakeholders. Close collaboration with CTO, engineering, strategy, supply chain, procurement, services, sales, customers, and ecosystem partners is required.

Requirements

  • Typically 12 or more years of related professional experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 8 or more years with a master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 or more years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Deep technical expertise in datacenter power and cooling infrastructure, including liquid cooling architectures such as direct-to-chip cold plates, CDUs, manifolds, immersion cooling, and facility water integration.
  • Expertise in rack-level power delivery, including PDUs, busways, 48V and high-voltage DC trends, PSU and battery backup design, power capping, and telemetry.
  • Knowledge of datacenter electrical and mechanical design, PUE and efficiency metrics, facility constraints, and scaling rack-level products for AI racks beyond 100 kW.
  • Working knowledge of ASHRAE thermal guidelines and Open Compute Project cooling environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise compute, AI/GPU platforms, storage, and networking sufficient to align power and cooling solutions with the broader portfolio.
  • Commercial acumen, including BOM costing, P&L ownership, pricing strategy, and business cases for attach or complementary products, including attach rates, solution bundling, and power/cooling TCO modeling.
  • End-to-end program leadership experience defining projects, collecting requirements, and coordinating cross-functional work across supply chain, engineering, procurement, and services to scope, schedule, and deploy complex hardware or infrastructure solutions.
  • Customer-facing executive presence and ability to engage credibly with enterprise and CSP stakeholders, including datacenter facilities teams, mechanical/electrical engineers, and consulting engineers, on technical architectures and delivery and business commitments.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional alignment across a matrixed organization without direct authority.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, including pre-RTS products, evolving AI architectures and thermal requirements, constrained supply environments, and changing customer requirements, with strategic problem-solving and execution discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience at a datacenter cooling or power vendor, such as a thermal solutions, CDU, or PDU/UPS supplier, or in hyperscale/colocation infrastructure engineering.
  • Hands-on experience deploying liquid-cooled AI/HPC clusters or high-density rack solutions at enterprise or CSP scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for power and cooling infrastructure offerings, from market definition and requirements through launch, sustaining, and end of life.
  • Define the power and cooling roadmap in alignment with PowerEdge server and AI/GPU platform roadmaps so solutions are ready for next-generation, high-density compute launches.
  • Evaluate build, buy, and partner options for cooling and power technologies.
  • Manage relationships with ODM/OEM partners, cooling vendors, and facility infrastructure providers.
  • Develop business cases, including attach-rate models, solution bundling, and total cost of ownership analysis, and present them to senior leadership.
  • Promote Dell’s power and cooling offerings and their value to the PowerEdge portfolio with sales, Centers of Competency, partners, and customers.
  • Coordinate roadmap planning and execution with engineering, supply chain, procurement, and services.
  • Define projects, collect requirements, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy complex hardware and infrastructure solutions.
  • Use quantitative data to prioritize decision-making.
  • Engage enterprise and CSP stakeholders on technical power and cooling architectures and delivery and business commitments.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across a matrixed organization without direct authority.
