About The Position

Moog Actuation Systems Business Unit (Space and Defense Group) is currently seeking a Product Line Lead to join the East Aurora site Quality team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be leading a team of cross functional business segment professionals. This individual will lead process improvement through collaboration with cross functional teams to improve and accelerate internal and external program performance. This may include facilitating new design manufacturing internally and through suppliers, including facilitating Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, or performing Kaizen events inside or outside the factory to drive design and delivery performance. There will be deployment internally and externally to supplier partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline (ex: Operations, Business, Engineering)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the field of Operations, Manufacturing or Engineering.
  • At least 2 of the years should include experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams within Operations/Supply Chain/Quality.
  • Experience with US Government contractual and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR/DFAR, REACH, AEO, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, Import/Export regulations, EAR, ITAR) for PO Placement, Contracting, and Proposal support.
  • Deep knowledge of MBS and/or SAP modules and transactions in the areas of planning, purchase order placement, maintenance, and inventory.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and resolve escalations and maintain positive relationships with both suppliers and customers.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and experience with continuous improvement tools (ex: 5Y, A3, 8D).
  • Excellent communication abilities at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion to suppliers and/or other Moog sites (20%)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or additional relevant certificates are desirable, but not required.
  • Leadership/Supervisory experience is desirable but not required.
  • Formal Six Sigma/Lean training is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary focal point and first level of escalation between Supply Chain Procurement and Operations Teams for all procurement activities within a specific value stream(s). This involves coordinating and facilitating communication between internal customers and suppliers.
  • Overseeing the placement of purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery. In case of any issues or delays, you will be responsible for implementing appropriate actions to resolve them. Key process indicators may include aging buy signals, expedites or delays in orders, non-conformances, and past due incoming orders, etc.
  • Updating part-specific procurement strategies and/or DDMRP parameters as well as reviewing and updating procurement strategies for specific parts or products. This may involve adjusting buffer types, minimum order quantity, safety stock, and other parameters to align with the business needs.
  • Capacity planning and managing workload across the Supply Specialists/Sr. Supply Specialists to ensure the optimal level of support for the value stream(s).
  • Attending and actively participating in daily/weekly accountability/tiered meetings to effectively communicate updates to the value stream(s) and ensure alignment of priorities.
  • Leading cross-functional teams for process improvement: You will take the lead in forming and guiding cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements across different supply chain functions. This includes both internal and external-facing processes.
  • Ensuring compliance of purchase order placement: You will be responsible for ensuring that purchase order placement adheres to relevant regulations and requirements, such as FAR/DFAR/USG requirements.
