Product Lead, Marketplace Pricing

ZiplineSouth San Francisco, CA
$180,000 - $225,000Onsite

About The Position

We are looking for an experienced individual contributor Product Lead to help shape the economics that power Zipline's marketplace. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, design, operations, and customer experience. You will work closely with teams building dispatch logic, supply/demand systems, data pipelines, and customer interfaces that support real-world delivery execution at scale. You will help identify operational pain points, clarify priorities, improve workflows, and ensure we are building experiences that are economically optimal across complex systems. This role thrives in close partnership with engineering, data, and design teams. We value collaborative product development grounded in customer insight, operational understanding, rapid iteration, and shared ownership of outcomes. The ideal candidate is energized by uncovering systematic inefficiency, user pain points, framing opportunities clearly, and helping teams move quickly toward effective solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation and deep appreciation for the engineering process. Many successful candidates for this role have backgrounds in software engineering and developed a passion for product, workflow, and customer experience through hands-on problem solving and close collaboration with users and engineers. The best candidates for this role are highly curious, operationally minded, deeply customer-focused, and comfortable working directly with users in the field to understand how systems behave under real-world pressure.

  • Experience working on operational, logistics, fulfillment, marketplace, restaurant-tech, or workflow-heavy software products
  • Strong technical fluency with the ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers on system design, technical tradeoffs, and operational constraints
  • Experience transitioning from software engineering into product leadership
  • Familiarity with behavioral economics in real-world environments
  • Strong intuition for user experience in fast-paced operational environments
  • Ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear priorities and actionable opportunities
  • Comfort partnering closely with engineering teams in highly technical environments
  • Ability to balance customer needs, operational realities, and engineering complexity to drive practical and scalable solutions
  • Appreciation for fast-moving engineering environments and a collaborative approach to product development
  • Strong instinct for simplifying user workflows and reducing friction for frontline users
  • Strong systems thinking and operational judgment
  • Experience working directly with customers, operators, or frontline users
  • Ability to move quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and operate with high ownership
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and collaboration
  • A bias toward action and continuous improvement
