About The Position

This role provides front-end architecture ownership and hands-on engineering leadership for the employee Digital Front Door, collaborating with product, UX, internal terms, and external vendors to deliver scalable, accessible, and high-performing experiences. Within Corporate Business Technology, you will lead the technical lifecycle of the Digital Front Door front-end platform - from concept through delivery, optimization, and framework upgrade while coordinating dependencies across squads. You will also serve as a key technical point of contact for security, privacy, compliance, accessibility, and platform governance to ensure solutions align to enterprise standards and risk requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Deep expertise in modern Angular and the broader front‑end ecosystem.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
  • AI development-first attitude (e.g. Architecture, Prompt Engineering Expertise, Deep tech foundation to identify & correct mistakes in the AI output)
  • Strong experience with Platform and product lifecycle ownership
  • Strong experience with Data platforms, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
  • Strong experience with Unily Angular Federated Module Framework development
  • Strong experience with Designing enterprise‑scale Angular applications, including shared libraries and component frameworks.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), performance optimization, and cross‑browser compatibility.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Integrations with Unily platform or other CMSs that packages and deploy custom modules/widgets
  • Frontend engineering in responsive UI designs
  • Strong Agile delivery experience, including team formation and change & control management
  • Deep understanding of SDLC toolchains (CI/CD, test automation, containerization)
  • Skilled at making technical tradeoffs while collaborating with engineers
  • AI & Chatbot development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Angular application architecture for J&J’s employee Digital Front Door (home.jnj.com), including component design, state management, routing, and performance optimization.
  • Define and enforce front‑end engineering standards, patterns, and guidelines across squads.
  • Lead architectural decisions related to micro‑frontends, shared libraries, design systems, and integration with enterprise platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategy, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Work hands‑on with engineering teams to develop, build, and enable intranet capabilities using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern tooling.
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, design reviews, and technical enablement.
  • Guide teams in implementing scalable, testable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance, accessibility (WCAG), reliability, and user experience.
  • Lead the full technical lifecycle of the J&J’s employee Digital Front Door front‑end platform, from concept through delivery, optimization, and retirement.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple squads and coordinate technical alignment.
  • Monitor platform health, technical debt, and reusability across teams.
  • Partner with Technical Product Managers and Business Product Managers to translate requirements into robust technical designs.
  • Support backlog prioritization by providing architectural input, feasibility assessments, and dependency analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with UX, API, backend, cloud, and enterprise platform teams to deliver cohesive user experiences.
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for security, compliance, quality, and platform governance team members.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for security, privacy, accessibility, and reliability.
  • Identify and handle technical risks and cross‑product dependencies.
  • Leads across squads and technical functions with influence, not just authority.
  • Demonstrates strong customer-focus and outcome-driven decision making.
  • Builds trust with architects, engineering leaders, and product leadership.
  • Champions inclusive leadership and team development.
