This role involves independently owning the installation of new tools at customer sites, with occasional guidance from managers. The engineer will follow procedures to ensure consistent results within specified cycle times, exercise judgment within defined practices, and achieve predictable production readiness. The position requires troubleshooting and repairing complex system-level problems during installations using standard procedures and techniques, knowing when to escalate issues with clear communication and data. The engineer will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as preparing field service reports and daily pass-downs on installation progress and non-conformances, and contributing to post-activity Quality Feedback Reports. A significant aspect of the role includes obtaining international travel documents and managing personal lives for extended travel periods, as well as managing personal finances to avoid disruption to scheduled activities. The role also involves assisting junior engineers by providing guidance and technical assistance at customer sites, developing basic POAs, and offering phone and on-site support.
