About The Position

This role involves independently owning the installation of new tools at customer sites, with occasional guidance from managers. The engineer will follow procedures to ensure consistent results within specified cycle times, exercise judgment within defined practices, and achieve predictable production readiness. The position requires troubleshooting and repairing complex system-level problems during installations using standard procedures and techniques, knowing when to escalate issues with clear communication and data. The engineer will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as preparing field service reports and daily pass-downs on installation progress and non-conformances, and contributing to post-activity Quality Feedback Reports. A significant aspect of the role includes obtaining international travel documents and managing personal lives for extended travel periods, as well as managing personal finances to avoid disruption to scheduled activities. The role also involves assisting junior engineers by providing guidance and technical assistance at customer sites, developing basic POAs, and offering phone and on-site support.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in semiconductor or related field/ military service experience
  • Ability to travel 80-90% domestically and internationally by commercial transportation to customer sites.
  • Ability to obtain all necessary international travel documents.
  • Ability to manage personal lives for extended travel periods.
  • Ability to manage personal finances to prevent disruption to scheduled activities.

Responsibilities

  • Own installation of new tools at customer sites independently.
  • Follow all procedures and provide consistent results within specified Cycle Times.
  • Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies.
  • Achieve a predictable production ready state for installed tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex system level problems during installations.
  • Use standard procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and install BKMs to resolve system level problems.
  • Know when to escalate issues and provide clear communication with all previous actions and data.
  • Take full ownership of install administrative tasks such as preparations of field service reports and daily pass downs on Installation progress and non-conformances.
  • Contribute to post-activity Quality Feedback Report.
  • Obtain all necessary international travel documents.
  • Manage personal lives to be ready to travel for extended periods.
  • Manage personal finances to prevent disruption to scheduled activities.
  • Assist junior engineers as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance at customer sites.
  • Develop basic POAs.
