Find us at www.lightology.com Position: The Product Information Management (PIM) Manager Position reports directly to: Vice President of Vendor Operations Location: Remote, Chicago IL Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000 Yearly The Product Information Management (PIM) Manager owns the strategy, governance, and execution of product data and digital asset management across the organization. This role ensures accurate, complete, and consistent product information across all e-commerce, marketing, and partner channels. The PIM Manager leads PIM operations, partners cross-functionally with technical and business teams, optimizes data workflows, and drives continuous improvement in product data quality to support growth and scalability.

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years in product data management, PIM, e-commerce operations, or related roles.
  • Prior experience owning systems, processes, or leading initiatives across teams.
  • Strong experience with PIM platforms (e.g., Pimcore, inriver, Riversand, Akeneo).
  • Advanced Excel skills; comfort working with data formats such as CSV, JSON, and XML.
  • Proven ability to lead without authority, influence stakeholders, and drive adoption.
  • Strong documentation, training, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to balance data accuracy and business speed.
  • Ability to analyze large product datasets and turn insights into action.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with integrations, APIs, and downstream e-commerce systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • PIM Strategy & Ownership Own the overall PIM roadmap, data governance standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Define and enforce data quality standards, taxonomies, attribute frameworks, and enrichment requirements.
  • Data Management & Governance Oversee the import, cleansing, enrichment, and validation of product data (attributes, descriptions, specifications, and digital assets) within the PIM system.
  • Ensure high levels of data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all channels.
  • System Configuration & Optimization Manage PIM system configuration, including data models, workflows, permissions, integrations, and automation.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to support enhancements, integrations, and system scalability.
  • Syndication & Distribution Oversee syndication of product content to e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, catalogs.
  • Ensure channel-specific requirements are met while maintaining a single source of truth.
  • Team Leadership & Enablement Lead, mentor, and support PIM specialists and vendors.
  • Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to cross-functional users of the PIM system.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the primary PIM point of contact for Marketing, Merchandising, IT, Vendor Operations, and external partners.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable PIM solutions.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting Identify data conflicts, inefficiencies, and gaps; implement process improvements to reduce manual effort and errors.
  • Develop and maintain reporting on data health, enrichment progress, and operational KPIs.
