Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in product environmental compliance, life cycle assessment (LCA), product stewardship, or related functions.
  • Experience reviewing BOMs, material declarations, full material disclosures, technical specifications, test reports, supplier questionnaires, or similar compliance documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of environmental compliance regulations affecting electronic products (EU RoHS, China RoHS, REACH, POPs, WEEE) as well as LCA methodologies and standards such as ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.
  • Experience with product environmental assessments, product LCA, product carbon footprint, or environmental impact assessment activities.
  • Experience with responsible minerals due diligence activities, including supplier data collection, CMRT/EMRT review, and customer reporting.
  • Technical understanding of materials, chemicals, and restricted substances used in electronic products.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, compliance risks, and reporting risks.
  • Excellent teamwork, and experience in working with multiple departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IPC-1752, supplier environmental data collection, or compliance data management systems.
  • Familiarity with electronics, semiconductor, optical communications, hardware, or contract manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile or similar product lifecycle/data management systems is preferred.
  • Experience using or developing data management, reporting, or automation tools to improve environmental compliance data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Request and review suppliers’ material declarations, technical specifications and test reports to prove material, component and assembly compliance
  • Analyze Bills of Materials of various products, review substances used and evaluate product compliance with global substance restriction requirements
  • Issue full material declarations and compliance declarations for products
  • Complete compliance surveys and respond to customer inquiries
  • Review product engineering changes to ensure continuous compliance
  • Collect, review and analyze conflict minerals declarations from suppliers, and issue consolidated product reports
  • Conduct Life Cycle Assessments for selected products, including data collection, analysis, and documentation.
  • Keep up to date with environmental compliance legislation
  • Interact with various teams (Supply Chain, R&D, Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturers, Sales, etc.) to obtain data and provide compliance information
