About The Position

Solid Power is seeking a Product Engineering Intern to join their team of engineers and scientists who are developing next-generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. This is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program focused on engineering, chemistry, or a related field.

Requirements

• Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials in a glovebox and associated equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Rapid learner and self-motivated who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment.
• Enrolled at least at a junior level in a bachelor’s program in a STEM field.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.
• Ability to work in gloveboxes and dry rooms.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of materials chemistry is preferred and a plus.
• Experience with material characterization techniques (XRD, SEM/EDS, rheology, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with materials synthesis and analysis a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with and under the direction of engineers to run experiments at the lab bench scale.
• Execute analytical measurements following provided SOPs.
• Documentation and analysis of results with supervision of senior engineers.
• Communicate results and roadblocks to the broader team/audience.
• Always follow all facility and laboratory safety rules and regulations.
