About The Position

The Product Engineer will work with limited supervision, making routine and non-routine decisions within the processes and procedures of product engineering. This role involves drafting solid models and prints, itemizing product components with cost efficiency in mind, and researching product margins to present cost-saving concepts. The engineer will initiate Engineering Introduction Orders (EIOs), attend and assist at mock-ups and construction sessions, and manage the engineering process throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include intermediate troubleshooting of product design or engineering problems and creating/managing MRP data and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in Infor software. The role requires frequent interaction with management and active participation in various meetings to improve engineering and manufacturing processes. Additionally, the Product Engineer will complete special projects, stay current with engineering concepts, and train others. Maintaining accurate material requirements planning (MRP) data, product drawings, and bills of materials is crucial. The role also involves demonstrating the Company's Core and Growth Values.

  • Ability to maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) data, product drawings and ensure bill of materials are entered completely and accurately into appropriate systems.

Responsibilities

  • Draft solid models and prints based on design drawings or rough-drafted products.
  • Itemize all components of the product while ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Research product margins and present cost-saving concepts and ideas to management.
  • Initiate the Engineering Introduction Order (EIO).
  • Attend and assist at all rough mock-ups and first construction sessions of product, ensuring compliance with fabrication and assembly prints and construction standards, and making changes if necessary.
  • Manage the engineering process throughout the product’s lifecycle.
  • Perform intermediate troubleshooting or analysis of product design or engineering problems.
  • Create all MRP data in Infor software.
  • Manage all revisions on product through workflow tools and the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
  • Interact with employee and operations management.
  • Attend and actively participate in Product Development, Software, Assembly, Fabrication, Design, Programming and Quality meetings.
  • Complete engineering special projects including product improvement initiatives, product testing and assisting with standardizing engineering and manufacturing procedures, components, tooling, etc.
  • Stay current with engineering concepts, participate in training on new software releases, manufacturing techniques and quality concepts; train other individuals and departments.
  • Maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) data, product drawings and ensure bill of materials are entered completely, accurately and into the appropriate systems.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
