About The Position

The Product Engineer will be responsible for understanding internal and external customer design requirements, creating, communicating, and validating designs, and launching products. This role will utilize the PRP to guide the Launch Process, capture lessons learned, and develop tactical plans to meet deliverables. The engineer will also be responsible for delivering designs within engineering budget and BOM cost targets. Additional responsibilities include effective internal and external communication, applying structured problem-solving methods for issue resolution, and managing program risk. The role also requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, including International Operating System (IOS), Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Product Safety, Compliance, and Information Security requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Level Degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent degree in a technical field (manufacturing, mechanical, chemical, materials science, industrial & operations, etc.). Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
• 1-3 Minimum Years of relevant experience in automotive interiors.
• Must be able to and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
• Understand, apply and meet all function-related IOS requirements.
• Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
• Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
• Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
• Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
• Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
• Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
• Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
• English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)

Nice To Haves

• Experience leading programs with full engineering responsibility.
• Experience in injection molded products preferred.
• Experience in cut, saw and wrap designs.
• Experience in mechanisms preferred - buttons, door openers, glove box, levers.
• Siemens TeamCenter PLM experience.
• CATIA and NX experience.
• Good PC-Skills (Word, Excel, MS Project).
