As a Product Engineer within our Trimble Military Advanced Systems division, you will make a tangible impact by managing the lifecycle of high-performance embedded GPS navigation receivers. What Makes This Role Great: In this role, you will be the bridge between initial development and production for cutting-edge military and aviation hardware. You will have the unique responsibility of overseeing complex engineering change processes and design assurance for products that define the next generation of aircraft navigation. Your work directly ensures the safety and accuracy of systems that communicate with aircraft Flight Management Systems, giving you a seat at the table in a high-stakes, high-reward engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Configuration Management (CM) within a hardware production environment.
  • Practical technical background working with hardware such as aviation, military, electronic, or GNSS/GPS systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage rigorous documentation and process audits with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, on-site engineering team.
  • This position requires a current Department of Defense (DoD) secret security level clearance or the ability to obtain one. Applicants must clearly indicate any previous DoD security clearance activity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle Agile PLM or similar configuration management tools.
  • Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor for technical modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes like machining or injection molding.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the configuration management and product lifecycle processes from initial design through production and end-of-life.
  • Lead the Software and Hardware Change Control Boards (SCCB/HCCB) to ensure rigorous engineering standards are maintained.
  • Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) hierarchy and the New Part Introduction process to drive seamless transitions to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with certification and quality assurance leads to uphold ISO and design assurance standards like DO-178C and DO-254.
  • Oversee configuration specifications and lock-downs for loadable images and critical engineering artifacts.
