Product Engineer

Corner HealthSanta Monica, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Corner Health is an early-stage technology company building the operating system for independent primary care. We give Nurse Practitioners (NPs) everything they need to start and run their own practices — from billing and insurance infrastructure to AI-powered workflow automation. We’re positioned to be the fastest growing in-person primary care company ever. Corner Health was co-founded by Lava Sunder and Anne Gifford and has raised a Series A backed by top investors, as well as the founders of DoorDash, Commure, Grow Therapy, Kindred, Culdesac & more. We're looking for a Product Engineer to design and build the patient experience at Corner Health. The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack engineer with design sensibility — someone who can take a high-level spec, work within our existing design language and component library, and own execution from interaction patterns through to shipped, production-ready code. Providers on Corner Health’s platform offer an entirely new model of care. Currently, 88% of patients trust a Corner Health provider’s medical guidance vs. elsewhere and patients already return at 2× the national average — not because of marketing, but because the experience actually works. The next phase of the company is about turning that into the most thoughtful, intuitive, and human patient experience in primary care. This is not a handoff role. You won’t be polishing a legacy healthcare portal. You’ll be defining what modern primary care should feel like.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a product or full-stack engineer with strong TypeScript chops
  • Comfortable working across the stack — from frontend interfaces to backend features and APIs (we have a TypeScript backend with tRPC, Fastify, and Inngest)
  • Ship end-to-end production code and have strong visual taste — you care about the details that make an interface feel right, and you know when something is good enough to ship vs. deserves extra polish
  • Hard-working, kind, curious, and intelligent
  • High degree of autonomy and can own a product surface end-to-end
  • Excited about working in a dynamic, constantly changing environment
  • Pragmatic about incorporating agents and LLMs in your work and are familiar with the ways AI excels vs. where it comes up short.

Nice To Haves

  • Excited by the idea of creating more independent medical providers
  • Worked at a small company or startup where you were the only or primary person owning a product surface
  • Comfortable making product calls when specs are ambiguous rather than waiting for direction
  • Can hold design coherence across a product without needing a designer in the loop for every decision
  • More comfortable maintaining design systems in code vs. Figma (we use React, Tailwind, and React Aria)
  • Empathize with users and are comfortable with good + fast over perfect + slow
  • Enjoy working in-person (our office is in Santa Monica, CA); you either live in LA or are excited to move to LA

Responsibilities

  • Design and build a cohesive web app spanning scheduling, chat, results, notifications, payments, and rebooking.
  • Turn complex, messy systems into clear, trustworthy interfaces that patients can actually understand and act on.
  • Design experiences around proactive follow-ups, care nudges, and personalized health journeys that deepen the provider–patient relationship over time.
  • Move beyond forms into conversational, adaptive, and voice-driven intake that feels natural and dramatically improves completion and accuracy.
  • Translate messy, real-world healthcare workflows into elegant, opinionated experiences.
  • Prototype quickly, ship production code, and refine based on real patient behavior.
  • Influence the product roadmap, and shape how design and engineering work together at Corner Health.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary & equity compensation
  • Top-tier health and dental
  • Health & wellness stipend
  • Eligible to participate in company-sponsored 401(k) plan
