About The Position
The Product Development Engineer – Level 1 supports the design and development of hydraulic fluid power products, with a primary focus on hydraulic actuators. This entry-level role emphasizes learning industry standards, design processes, and internal systems while contributing to new product development and sustaining existing product lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
- 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience (internships/co-ops acceptable)
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of new hydraulic actuator products using 3D CAD software
- Create and update 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation
- Support maintenance of existing product lines, including minor design updates and revisions
- Create, review, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system
- Assist with engineering change requests
- Collaborate with sales and senior engineers to support customer quotations and technical questions
- Participate in customer-related issue resolution, including basic root cause investigations and returned product evaluations
- Manage small to medium size engineering projects including scope, schedule, training and open issues lists
- Assists level 2 and Senior Engineers on test lab projects
- Learn and apply applicable industry standards, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements
