About The Position

V2Soft is seeking a Product Engineer Chassis to join their team. This role involves design and release engineering for components such as frames, mounts, spare tire winches, and tow hooks, focusing on forward model development, release, and launch. The engineer will be responsible for delivering robust designs and ensuring failure mode avoidance through the application of engineering disciplines like DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Perfect Drawing Plan, and Engineering Specifications. Key responsibilities include providing design leadership to meet vehicle attributes such as package, crash, durability, commercial upfitting, and thermal management. The role also entails leading, reviewing, and approving frame structure designs to meet component ES and vehicle requirements, resolving durability, assembly, and functional issues, and coaching/mentoring peer engineers. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to material cost reduction, warranty reduction, and benchmarking efforts.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in frames or structures
  • Design and Release CAD Capable (CATIA, 3DX)
  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills, written verbal.
  • Ability to lead a team, work with cross functional group.
  • CAD – TCE Vis mockup; CATIA V5/V6, 3DX
  • 3D Modeling – modeling skills aligned with manipulation of existing CAD models to generate iterative proposals
  • Analytical skills – understanding of engineering first principles as applied to structural design and interpretation of CAE model outputs
  • Application Design – Design and Release of built to print and or Ful service supplier content, ensuring the design of record meets design requirements and Client Standards

Responsibilities

  • Design and Release Engineering for Frame, Mounts, Spare Tire Winches, and/or Tow Hooks, responsible for forward model development, release, and through launch.
  • Ensure the delivery of robust designs and failure mode avoidance by applying engineering disciplines including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Perfect Drawing Plan and Engineering Specifications.
  • Provide overall design leadership to meet vehicle attributes including package, crash, durability, commercial upfitting, and thermal management.
  • Lead, review, and approve Frame Structure designs to ensure delivery to component ES, and vehicle requirements.
  • Resolve all durability, assembly, and functional issues identified.
  • Coach, technical mentor, and guide peer engineers with regular information exchange through Technical Club forums.
  • Deliver focused Material Cost Reduction, Warranty reduction, and benchmarking.
