The Product Engineer B/C Role involves designing and developing steering column assemblies and intermediate shafts to meet customer requirements, utilizing standard EPS system designs, and ensuring manufacturability input is considered during the design process. This role also supports design issues for customers, internal manufacturing, and suppliers, and fully supports the NPDS process.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Responsibilities

Analyzes design inputs to determine feasibility for indented application.
Understands and applies appropriate customer, internal, federal, and industrial standards to designs.
Maintains understanding of in-house, supplier, and customer manufacturing processes to ensure design compatibility.
Prepares design specifications for each application.
Conducts design reviews during product development (customer, internal, supplier).
Issues appropriate design documents to support program development (APQP or NPDS) activities.
Coordinates required development, sample builds, and validation testing of design.
Provides design support to customers, suppliers, and in-house departments.
Provides VA/VE ideas to support cost targets.
