You will lead and support current and future model production / design problem solving with cross-functional teams. Working with transmission, hybrid, and electric vehicle eDrive units and components. Responsibilities include coordinating returns from the field/test locations, distributing them to the floor for teardown writing the necessary work orders, and managing storage of critical components. The Technical Test Leader is responsible for coordinating the building of test samples along with completing the teardown of samples after test.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience required in the automotive industry
  • Powertrain knowledge (transmission, axle, or driveline) is a plus.
  • Candidate must be a good communicator and well organized since this role is really focused around supporting the investigative work being done by the engineers on the team.
  • Must be a self-starter with knowledge of the vehicle components such that all the work in our troubleshooting efforts is managed through the shop floor where applicable and good records are kept.
  • There will be some overlap with the transmission and driveline systems groups as well in support of shipping, receiving and other work coordination with the various groups at ATNPC.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate part returns and manage their flow through the garage for troubleshooting.
  • Support all design verification testing, both systems and components including writing test requests, coordinating sample builds, preparation and delivery.
  • Coordinate root cause analysis, including writing teardown requests, coordinating post-test evaluations and disposition of post-test hardware.
  • Support best in class benchmarking. Creating part orders for new benchmarking studies, developing custom components to enable testing and teardown reports.
  • Manage the list of teardowns
  • Lead transmission, edrive units, and eREV builds for validation development when design change improvements are made.
  • Support Part Ordering and shipments for troubleshooting. Coordination with our plants where applicable
  • Manage test units, status, storage, etc.
  • Key point of contact for transmission, eDrive Units and eREV pedigree tracking for both low and high time in service evaluations.
  • Managing the fleet of the departments test vehicles.
  • Managing and ordering spare parts to support dyno testing
