  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience with commercial or industrial HVAC equipment (chillers preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in both mechanical assembly and electrical wiring/controls support in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Experience working with electrical panels, sensors, VFDs, and control wiring.
  • Solid understanding of refrigeration cycles, evacuation, charging, and refrigerant handling best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and control diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and system level interactions.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineering, controls, and production teams.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Perform brazing of copper piping, pipe cutting, fitting, and alignment in accordance with industry standards.
  • Conduct general fabrication tasks such as drilling, cutting, deburring, and modifying parts as required for prototype builds.
  • Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, and bills of material.
  • Perform electrical panel and field wiring, including routing, termination, and labeling of power and control wiring.
  • Install and connect components such as sensors, transducers, VFDs, contactors, relays, power supplies, and safety devices.
  • Support instrumentation installation for pressure, temperature, flow, and current measurement.
  • Assist with controls commissioning activities, including I/O point-to-point checks and signal verification.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Evacuate, charge, and recover refrigerants in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation verification, and system integrity checks.
  • Support oil handling, filter changes, and refrigerant circuit preparation for testing.
  • Prepare chillers and heat pumps for connection to test rigs.
  • Execute start up procedures, functional tests, and performance verification.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls related issues during commissioning and testing.
