About The Position
The Product Development Specialist supports the Sourcing Specialist by coordinating day-to-day sourcing and product development activities. This role ensures efficient communication with suppliers, accurate documentation, and timely follow-up on samples, quotes, and product requirements. This role plays a key role in keeping sourcing projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with Zulay Kitchen’s quality and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary research to identify potential suppliers and manufacturers across global markets
- Assist in outreach to suppliers, including initial communication and follow-ups
- Track and organize supplier quotations, product specifications, and sample requests
- Maintain and update sourcing databases, supplier lists, and documentation for accuracy and traceability
- Coordinate sample shipments, track delivery timelines, and log feedback from internal teams
- Support price comparisons and basic cost analysis across multiple suppliers
- Help monitor supplier timelines to ensure deadlines for samples, quotes, and production are met
- Collaborate with Product Development and Quality teams to track product requirements and approvals
- Prepare reports and summaries on sourcing progress, supplier status, and open items
- Stay organized on multiple projects and escalate delays or issues to the Sourcing Specialist
- Assist in maintaining communication between internal teams and external suppliers
