This role is responsible for developing innovative packaging concepts and producing functional prototypes for future packaging initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong design creativity with technical expertise in CAD software and hands-on experience operating 3D printers to create packaging mock-ups and prototypes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Design, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in packaging design and prototype development.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar design tools.
  • Experience operating and maintaining 3D printers and creating prototype models.
  • Experience with sustainable packaging design practices.
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping methods and additive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with packaging testing procedures and standards.
  • Experience working with consumer products or retail packaging
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and production methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design innovative packaging solutions that align with product requirements, branding, functionality, and sustainability goals.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D packaging models using CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS or similar platforms.
  • Develop and produce physical packaging prototypes using 3D printing equipment and related prototyping tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product development, marketing, and manufacturing teams to evaluate packaging concepts and feasibility.
  • Test and refine packaging designs based on performance, durability, cost, and production requirements.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for prototype and production-ready packaging.
  • Research new materials, technologies, and packaging trends to support future product innovation.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot 3D printing equipment as needed.
  • Ensure packaging designs comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
