About The Position

CSC Corptax is seeking a Product Development Owner to own outcomes for a product area and work with a scrum team in an agile delivery model. The role focuses on improving tax professionals’ workflows by eliminating repetitive data preparation and validation work through automation, rules-based checks, and responsibly applied AI. The owner may extend established products, develop new concepts, or rethink existing areas, with priorities grounded in client outcomes and evidence. The position includes maintaining a Now/Next/Later roadmap tied to system year and PI goals; defining success metrics and making scope trade-offs; translating client workflows and research into product capabilities; and setting AI accuracy, evaluation, security, auditability, explainability, and human-review guardrails. The owner uses AI in daily work, manages the agile backlog and delivery ceremonies, monitors adoption and product analytics, and partners with clients, engineering, escalation owners, and go-to-market, Product Marketing, and Marketing teams. The role also communicates roadmap progress and risks to clients, sales, and executives and helps ensure releases are positioned, adopted, and measured.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of recent product ownership or product management experience, or tax and accounting experience with direct involvement in software delivery.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on daily use of AI tools, with concrete examples of an automated or eliminated manual, repetitive process and its measured result.
  • Ability to break complex workflows into discrete steps, identify steps that can be automated or validated by rules, and write requirements for them.
  • Experience taking a new product, feature, or concept from idea to adoption, or rethinking an existing area, with requirements that changed as evidence emerged.
  • Working knowledge of AI limitations, including accuracy, hallucination, and data privacy, and judgment about when human review is required.
  • Working knowledge of agile methodologies and backlog tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Linear.
  • Comfort working with data using Excel, basic SQL, and product analytics tools.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including clients and executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage time, deliver on commitments, and cut, pivot, or stop work when evidence indicates it will not achieve the intended outcome.

Nice To Haves

  • Corporate tax experience, including provision, US or international compliance, or Pillar Two.
  • Experience with workflow and data automation tools such as Power Automate or Alteryx.
  • Comfort reading code or navigating a repository such as GitHub to understand system behavior.
  • Experience building reusable AI workflows, prompt libraries, or agents.

Responsibilities

  • Own outcomes for a product area and maintain a Now/Next/Later roadmap tied to system year and PI goals.
  • Define success metrics before work begins, commit to deliverable “Now” scope, and make evidence-based decisions to cut, pivot, or stop work when priorities or results warrant it.
  • Take new products, features, and concepts from idea to adoption, and rebuild existing areas when they no longer serve clients.
  • Map client data preparation, reconciliation, and validation workflows; identify repetitive or error-prone steps and design automation, rules-based checks, or AI-assisted capabilities to remove them.
  • Quantify the impact of product changes in hours saved, errors prevented, and cycle time reduced.
  • Partner with engineering to identify valuable AI applications and define accuracy thresholds, test datasets, evaluation criteria, and safeguards for accuracy, auditability, explainability, data security, and human review.
  • Use AI to draft and refine Features, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and release notes; analyze usage data and client feedback; and explore codebases to understand current behavior.
  • Manage the agile backlog using clear work items and testable acceptance criteria; lead refinement, sprint planning, PI planning, and sprint demos; and manage dependencies across teams.
  • Use product analytics, support case trends, and client research to prioritize, support major roadmap decisions with data, and define and review adoption KPIs within 90 days of each release.
  • Partner with the scrum team’s escalation owner to understand client reports, prioritize issues, write actionable bug and enhancement work items, validate fixes through user acceptance testing, and apply Corptax UX standards.
  • Work with go-to-market, Product Marketing, and Marketing from concept through launch; use pipeline strength, sales-engineer demo feedback, and account-manager feedback to shape priorities and support awareness and adoption.
  • Present roadmaps, progress, and risks to clients, sales, and executives; review client-facing communications for accuracy and tone; and raise missed commitments early with recovery plans.
