Requirements
- Five or more years of product development experience, including prior team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a team and hold direct reports accountable.
- Thorough understanding of the product development lifecycle.
- Strong project management skills, including managing shifting priorities, identifying roadblocks, and executing solutions.
- Ability to initiate and lead group collaboration.
- Experience with project management software and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong networking and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Self-motivation, persistence, enthusiasm, and adaptability.

- Bachelor’s degree in Product Development or a related field.
- Direct people-management experience.
- Experience with Mercola or comparable product development environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Product Development Specialists through hiring, onboarding, goal-setting, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Set priorities and allocate team resources across simultaneous projects, maintaining accountability for pipeline quality, timeliness, and market competitiveness.
- Own the development lifecycle, including ideation, research, ingredient sourcing, formulation, labeling, and product education; use scientific literature to inform formulation decisions.
- Translate industry trends and competitive analysis into original product concepts, executive presentations, and proposed product pricing.
- Lead manufacturer and supplier relationships, resolve formulation challenges, and partner with Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Quality to identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard manufacturing partners, including facility audits.
- Coordinate launches across departments, oversee technical documentation, and review labeling and marketing materials for accuracy and alignment with requirements.
- Establish and improve department standard operating procedures and workflows; oversee software transitions, project management systems, databases, and accurate development records.
