The Product Development Engineer will support and participate in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes, maintaining detailed documentation throughout the development process. This role involves utilizing CAD software for design work, determining design specifications, and performing necessary adjustments. The engineer will investigate existing technology, develop new methodologies, materials, processes, and products, and support product development plans regarding schedule, cost, and design inputs. Responsibilities include reviewing customer prints, providing cost estimates, conducting quality checks on documents and reports, and creating manufacturing Bills of Materials. The role also involves conferring with engineering personnel to make design modifications for manufacturability, identifying and implementing process improvements for efficiency and cost savings, evaluating engineering test results, and compiling data to establish performance standards. The engineer will implement test programs, analyze test data, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Collaboration with other departments such as Quality, Inventory, Engineering, and MNTC is crucial for cohesive workflow and business results. This position serves as a key member of the plant leadership team, promoting safety, quality, and teamwork, and will utilize a hands-on approach to promote and deploy sustainable continuous improvement activities with front-line employees.
