About The Position
The Product Development Engineer supports KLA’s Semiconductor Products and Customers business unit, which designs, builds, and sells inspection, metrology, analytics, and other systems for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. The role focuses on final verification of systems at a U.S. factory, resolving production issues, coordinating with engineering teams in Europe, and improving product configurations and processes.
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience; alternatively, a master's degree and three years of related work experience.
- Strong background in engineering or physical sciences, with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical understanding and communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Able to travel to Europe for training.

- Hands-on experience constructing and aligning complex mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Complete final verification of systems at the U.S. factory to confirm performance meets specifications and support on-time delivery according to the production schedule.
- Debug and resolve production issues by establishing root causes, developing plans of action, guiding manufacturing teams through execution, and standardizing solutions to improve designs or procedures.
- Interface with the engineering team in Europe on escalation cases and provide final sign-off on tool shipments.
- Optimize bills of materials, procedures, and tool configurations to improve cost, availability, and scalability.
