About The Position

AMD is hiring a Product Development Engineer to develop and/or test electrical and electronic components or systems for semiconductor products. The role involves designing, developing, and/or managing activities for a product or group of products from definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. The engineer serves as a central resource for design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing teams as products move into production and distribution, and may support modifications, upgrades, and maintenance throughout the product lifecycle. The role addresses problems of moderate scope, reviewing a variety of factors when analyzing situations or data. Under supervision and within defined company procedures, the engineer selects methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results. The work applies knowledge of computers and electronics, engineering principles, design techniques, tools, and technologies to AMD product design, development, and testing. No travel is required. Multiple openings are available.

Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
No amount or type of prior experience is required; relevant experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
Experience with hardware and software verification.
Experience with logic and circuit design.
Experience with CMOS transistor design.
Experience with CAD tools.
Experience with SoC or system architecture.
Experience with RTL design or coding.
Experience with Verilog or VHDL.
Experience with functional verification of microprocessors.
Experience with design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
Experience with ASIC design tools, including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
Experience with product development cycles.
Experience with CPU architecture.
Experience with data structures.
Experience with x86-64 architecture.

Responsibilities
