Group/Division The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. The Broadband Plasma (BBP) division is the market-leading optical inspection system used by logic, foundry, and memory customers to detect critical defects at advanced nodes. These tools combine broadband plasma technology with unmatched sensitivity and speed to support high-volume manufacturing. KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for forward-thinking research scientists, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers to join our team and enable the movement towards advanced chip design. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which utilize Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.

Requirements

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years

Responsibilities

Work with marketing and engineering teams to define system and subsystem requirements and specifications.
Create and execute test plans involving Hardware, Software and Algorithm changes to validate system/subsystem performance.
Collaborate with functional groups to define and review designs to solve customer problems.
Support existing product lines and products released to the field and qualify new parts and processes to meet existing subsystem requirements and identify opportunities to improve performance.
Support internal and external customers in implementing processes to build and use the tool effectively and solve intricate problems to optimize tool performance.
Travel (up to 35%) to customer wafer fabs to troubleshoot issues across multiple subsystems involving optics, opto-mechanics, electronics, cameras, light sources, image computers, GPUs, wafer handler robots, precision stages etc.
Triage hardware, software and algo issues and work with expert teams across different global locations to develop root cause analysis and lead the investigations.
