In this position, join the team defining the future of Ford Motor Company’s powertrain portfolio. As a Clutch Design & Release Engineer, you will support the rapidly growing complexity of Hybrid and ICE Transmission programs. This is a "cradle-to-grave" ownership role: you will lead the design, development, and production release of critical clutch components that directly impact vehicle performance, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and durability.

Requirements

  • Lead the design, development, and production release of critical clutch components.
  • Impact vehicle performance, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and durability.
  • Manage product release CAD and BOM structures.
  • Facilitate supplier data integration.
  • Develop CAD studies to support and drive design improvements.
  • Understand and utilize product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem.
  • Perform feasibility analyses using CAD tools.
  • Conduct draft angle analysis.
  • Perform undercut detection.
  • Validate minimum bend radius for sheet metal.
  • Perform clearance checks to support manufacturing and machining requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product release CAD and BOM structures, including assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis.
  • Facilitate supplier data integration and develop CAD studies to support and drive design improvements.
  • Understand and effectively utilize product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem.
  • Perform feasibility analyses using CAD tools, including draft angle analysis, undercut detection, minimum bend radius validation for sheet metal, and clearance checks to support manufacturing and machining requirements.
