Product Development Buyer

About The Position

We are looking for a Development Buyer reporting to a Team Leader, Global Sourcing to help us develop our new products, as well as support the supply chain at an operations level. As part of your role, you’ll be significantly contributing to the organization's growth. You will be at the forefront of expanding BRP's product line through your knowledge of the supply chain and the development of business partnerships with our suppliers; you will also be responsible for commercial management and negotiation of the organization's best interests with the supplier network for production components.

Requirements

Relevant experience or training in procurement, administration/engineering or other related fields.
Experience in sourcing through category management or convenience.
Bilingualism is essential, both spoken and written, as the person in this role will be representing BRP to international suppliers (French/English).
Good work organization, priority management and project management.
Very good analytical and negotiating skills.
Excellent communication and the ability to work in a team.
Interest in BRP products, various manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

Fluency in Spanish would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Play an active role in the development process for new components in collaboration with engineering, the quality department, and strategic suppliers.
Manage projects by contributing to component development from the initial prototype stage through to the final part approval process prior to mass production. Establish the component development schedule and ensure its on-time delivery for production launch.
Ensure the availability of parts for the assembly of various generations of products under development.
Negotiate and adhere to various agreements with suppliers (regarding delivery times, cost structures, fluctuations in raw material prices, exchange rates, etc.).
Manage the budget for your parts portfolio and regularly update cost prices.
