About The Position

Veronica Beard is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Product Development Associate to support the development of women’s sweaters and cut & sew knits from initial concept through production handoff. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to communicate clearly and professionally with internal partners and overseas vendors.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in Apparel, Product Development, Production of related fashion field
  • Familiarity with product development and production processes
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and oral), as well as attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks within tight deadlines
  • Genuine interest in working on physical products
  • Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with knitwear (Sweater and Cut & Sew Knits) is preferred
  • Familiarity with PLM systems is preferred
  • Experience with Vibe IQ and/or Exenta is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the sourcing of yarns, as well as pricing, organizing, and archiving seasonal yarn cards/selections sent from mills and vendors.
  • Coordinate yarn orders, send color standards as needed, and track the status of all yarn orders and materials throughout development.
  • Launch yarn lab dips and communicate comments and approvals to factories and mills.
  • Track the status of trims and partner with the Trim Manager to ensure all trim orders and materials are received in a timely manner.
  • Work with the PD Manager to create a WIP file with all requested samples from factories each season and track all components and sample status.
  • Partner with PD Manager to create and maintain BOMs for all styles throughout the development process.
  • Create and maintain accurate product information in PLM and related systems, including style details, colorways, and components.
  • Attend seasonal BOM reviews and organize BOM files and samples in preparation for each meeting.
  • Coordinate and send parcels to overseas factories, as well as check in samples, mock-ups, and approvals when boxes are received.
  • Organize proto samples and SMS samples as they arrive in the office, ensuring samples are properly identified and organized for fittings, meetings, and pass-offs to cross-functional team members.
  • Maintain the sample library, organizing and archiving garments each season for future design reference or distribution to sample sale.
  • Coordinate the preparation and necessary alterations of samples for selling appointments.
  • Attend proto fittings and take detailed BOM notes that apply to each style.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Design, Technical Design, Raw Materials, Merchandising, Production, and other teams to support seasonal development needs.
