About The Position

The Product Development organization drives the global product roadmap from concept to shelf, acting as "product CEOs" and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve high consumer satisfaction and business results. The team is composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds who are united by a commitment to delivering a 5-star experience for every consumer. This role will support the Ninja business by developing successful and profitable programs for key products, managing day-to-day business operations, driving product improvements, conducting user research, and partnering with Engineers and Marketers. The Product Developer will define and iterate product specifications, acting as the primary consumer advocate, and take ownership of assigned categories' sales performance. Responsibilities include leading competitive product analyses, providing insights from legacy product lines to NPD teams, and partnering with Testing and Quality organizations to manage testing procedures. The Product Developer will also serve as the product "expert" for cross-functional teams.

Requirements

2-4 years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field – preferable at a consumer goods company.
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or a combination of the above
A “100% on” consumer-first perspective when it comes to introducing new products/processes or improving current products
A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi-functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
Highly-effective communication skills – both written (presentation/email) and face-to-face (ability to host succinct, effective conversations that solve problems and ability to make effective presentations to all levels of management) – are required.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment
The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward

Nice To Haves

A passion for hair care or the beauty realm would make you stand out for this role.
Formal experience working in the beauty or haircare product space (hair tools, cosmetics tools, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support the Ninja business with the development of successful and profitable programs for key products to ensure continued growth of the product portfolio
Responsible for the day-to-day business management and enhancement of some of our Shark product lines, including driving product improvements and optimizations, conducting user research, and partnering with Engineers, Marketers, and more on rolling these product enhancements out to ensure a continued 5-star experience
Define, develop, and iterate product specifications, marrying consumer wants/needs, white space in the market, and product technologies as the primary consumer advocate
Take ownership of your assigned categories’ sales performance – partnering with others in the company to identify what products are working/not working; and recommend new product opportunities to fill those gaps
Lead competitive product analyses, giving your business partners insight into how Shark stacks up against the competition - and maintaining a clear lens on how we can constantly improve to make Shark the consumer’s top choice every time
Be the voice of our legacy product lines: share insights and learnings from consumers and the market with Product Developers focused on NPD to ensure critical features and feedback are incorporated into next generation products
Partner with SharkNinja Testing and Quality organizations to define, develop, and manage quality and performance testing procedures
Act as the product “expert” for cross-functional team member questions and concerns
