About The Position

Nominal is seeking designers graduating in 2027 or sooner for a full-time, early-career product design role. The designer will own defined features and product improvements with support from experienced designers and close collaboration with engineering and product. The role offers opportunities to bring new capabilities to life, learn directly from customers, and develop product-design judgment. The work supports engineers testing and validating complex hardware systems, including nuclear reactors, rockets, and supersonic aircraft. The designer will translate complex, high-frequency hardware and data workflows into intuitive product experiences; collaborate with engineers and customers to understand workflows and test solutions; research and prototype with AI; own feature design from exploration through implementation; refine interactions with engineers; contribute reusable design-system patterns and components; and help shape the design culture through early sharing, constructive feedback, and customer-informed decisions.
